About Me

Since elementary school, I was curious about computer programming, learning JavaScript on Khan Academy in an effort to create a simple video game. Since then, I have maintained an interest in programming, taking online classes on my own time, and now college courses, in order to better my understanding. I believe computer programming is a field for which my talents and passions are well suited, and I am excited to see where the future leads.

I write in several in-demand languages, including C#, Python, JavaScript, and SQL. This means I have a solid grasp of modern coding concepts, especially when it comes to object-oriented programming. I can use classes, objects, and methods to create robust, reusable code. Additionally, by following good design conventions, I can write code that is well-documented and easy to understand.

Due to my experience in programming, I am a knowledgeable debugger, familiar with many kinds of errors and how to resolve them. When confronted with a problem, I methodically test code to figure out what the exact issues are and where they are located. This includes testing by altering the code itself, as well as using integrated debugging tools such as breakpoints and variable watches.

My development experience also extends into web design. I can design websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, formatting them to offer a positive user experience across many devices and screen sizes. Additionally, I can use a CMS to manage, edit, and version web content.

Finally, my experience in computer networking offers several advantages. I understand not only how a program runs on a computer, but also how it communicates with other devices across networks. Understanding networking concepts also enables me to be a more effective employee in general, allowing me to troubleshoot simple network problems myself and reduce the burden of the IT department. Lastly, it means that I understand good cybersecurity practices at a deeper level, protecting from threats and preventing vulnerabilities.
